We have been approached by community members asking how we might be able to help them showcase some of their ICEfaces demos and applications. We have been exposed to many great ICEfaces applications since we went open source and thought the idea of a public showcase was intriguing.

Before taking the idea further, we wanted float the idea to the user community to gauge general interest. Notionally we would host a "Cool ICEfaces Applications" page on ICEfaces.org which we would manage. Community users would submit a brief description of their demo, application, service, etc., along with a link which we would review and publish. If users are interested in presenting more extensive coverage of their applications, we could also publish a Case Study similar to these.

Please let us know your thoughts and feedback. If you are interested in showcasing your work, simply reply to this thread or contact us directly via this Contact Us link.

Regards,
Your ICEfaces Development Team.

Hi All,

We are building a webapp using AppFuse (Spring MVC archetype) plus Icefaces (www.icefaces.org). It is a web conferencing application that allows you to show slide presentations online. It's somewhat like a poor man's WebEx. We started with WebMC and added some functionalities as well as integrate into Asterisk.

We used Asterisk (www.asterisk.org) as the voice conferencing server. So from the web-based interface you can manage the participants in the voice conference (i.e. mute/unmute/kick), chat with other participants, see the presenter's slide, raise your hand if you want to talk, etc.

You can test out the demo at http://present.blindsideproject.org and click Start. If you want to try out with voice conferencing, please read the "requirement" link on the front page. You need to install a free Voip client and configure it.

This is an open source project. The project website is at http://www.blindsideproject.org

Please provide feedback and suggestions on how we may improve the application. You are also welcome to join us on the project.

Thanks.

I'm rebuilding the whole http://www.psynews.org website from scratch. This is a website about...psychedelic musics a friend started while student in january 2000. Soon I helped him with some programming at that time and since my friend disappeared and visitors still grew, I'm now taking care of his baby...

That old site (now removed, just left the forum) was too static, too old, too ugly. The new one, I will hopefully acheive one day, will have several content oriented sections, artists interviews, groups & releases information, cd reviews, etc, etc...

The WIP site extensively uses JSF+IceFaces. I chose IceFaces after carefully testing most of the existing free JSF-enabled-Ajax frameworks on the market. Surely it was the best, and is still better than the JBoss-backed RichFaces for example, as it's less easy to get into, but far more complete. As for Tomahawk...let's compare what's comparable.

I'm trying to switch to Facelets now, though it's unfortunately not easy to reach a stable development platform at the moment.

This is a huge enterprise (started during Struts glory), as I'm virtually alone to make it. When I look for JSF developers in the site's community, or even at work -I'm an IT project manager and software designer, previously a frenetic developer-, well, not many can contribute... I don't even dare to ask for the Java1.5+EE+JSF+Facelets+IceFaces+Hibernate+DB+AS+CM experienced developers I'd need ahah :)

To summarize, I can't showcase my project right now, but within the end of the summer it should be all right with several of the sections.

faceCart is an award winning e-commerce platform. It is created in the patterns of oscommerce. It is a full scale enterprice server based on J5EE technology EJB3.0 backend whith AJAX frontend. The AJAX frontend is created with the help of ICEFaces. facecart will be open source project and the release date is set to the second half of november.

You can visit facecart.com and check the available demo version.

Ajax history is also supported. The project is seeking for investors.

faceCart took gold medal in august on the national round of Intel & Berkley Chalenge in Bulgaria. And qualified for Intel & Berkeley Chalenge in Eastern europe.

I would like to congratulate the icefaces team for their work.

Thank you.
