while searching the net for component libraries and trying around with trinidad I stumbled over icefaces, which looks absolutely great at first view, so I´m seriously thinking about using ice-faces.
I haven´t found any answer in the forum yet, so I´d like to ask you if you´d receommend to use the MyFaces or the JSF RI 1.2 for use together with icefaces when using it in a JBoss Seam environment. I´m especially thinking about the JSF 1.2 specification, which has not been fullfilled either by myfaces and also by icefaces. Unfortunately also trinidad does not work correctly with the Sun RI and Seam.
So what disturbs me especially if that customized error and validation-messages are not supported by the former 1.2 libraries and Sun has the requiredMessage-attribute for these cases.
So what would you say is the best combination? Especially for further integration with seam?
Sorry about the late reply. I think going forward JSF 1.2 is going to be your best bet. JBoss 5 will have it integrated. We're not JSF 1.2 compliant yet, but we will be (with Facelets) for our 1.6 release. This should be final in April, but there will be upcoming beta releases before that. I think Seam should give you everything you need for customized error messaging.
