I just downloaded and installed NetBeans 5.5 with VWP.
I downloaded ICEFaces 1.5.2 with VWP and attempted the install.

First, the ICEfaces integration documentation refers to loading complib library components. I did not find any complib components in the downloads.

There were NBM files, so I loaded them using manual update.

I tried to open a copy of a project from JSC2-1.
It opened OK, but there were unresolved references to an older version of ICEfaces.

Somewhere along the line, I think I managed to uninstall the ICEFaces components from NetBeans. They do not show up in the component library manager.

I tried to reinstall using manual update, but it will not allow me to reinstall.

Now I have the situation where I do not think ICEfaces is installed on NB and I'm not sure how to fix that.

Then comes the problem of fixing the unresolved references to the older version of ICEfaces from my project.

I tried to address this by removing the 'complib' directory from the project.

Current Netbeans 5.5 VWP implementation does not allow dynamic install component library. So you have to install it manually. The nmb file within ICEfaces-v1.5.2-NetBeans-VWP-Complib.zip has complib file.

Once nbm module installed, the complib file is located under netbeans_home_directory/nb5.5/samples.

After you manully install in the component library manager, you wil be able to add component library to the VWP project.

Could you try the above steps...

Thanks, That fixed the problem with adding the complib to the IDE.

Now, I still have unresolved references to an older version of ICEFaces in my project that I moved from JSC2-1.

How do I get rid of references to older versions of ICEFaces?

Import Creator 2 created project into netbeans VWP,

start Netbeans VWP --> open project directory --> remove unresolved reference (from Libraries and Build Packaging, two views inside project properties) --> remove old component library

If you install the new component library, you could add to the project.

I removed the rnresolved references from 'Libraries' but where is 'Build Packaging' ??

At first I had two unresolved references, I removed all the pre-1..5.2 references from 'Libraries'.

Now I have 4 unresolved references.
I seem to be taking giant steps backwards.....
