How do you get ICEFaces to integrate with the RAD 7 that was just announced? Thanks.

Sorry, currently we just have the plugin for RAD 6.
Thanks,

Do you have a timeline for when RAD 7 will be supported? I am starting a new project, have selected RAD 7, and am in the process of selecting a JSF component library. I have been impressed with the ICEFaces feature set and performance.
Thanks.

Probably not in the short term. We should have a better idea after the 1.5.2 version comes out in January.
Thanks,
Philip

And when you say not in the short term do you mean probably not in the next 2-3 months? I assume you can always install the jars etc. manually and get pages to work with the ICEFacs library. Is that a correct assumption?
Does this libarary also work along side MyFaces?
Thanks.

We are hoping to add support for RAD 7 in the ICEfaces v1.6 release, which would be available in late Q1 2007, barring the discovery of any complex technical issues.
In the meantime, you should be able to manually add the ICEfaces libraries and configuration files to your project to use ICEfaces in RAD 7. ICEfaces works with the MyFaces runtime, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, you're correct, you don't require the plugin to work with ICEfaces in RAD, just add the jars you need etc. The plugin just automates that and does some configuration.
Thanks,
Philip
