When I print a PDF which contains an Acroform fields which have checkboxes are printing containing the character '4' rather than the tick. I am using the Pro version and all other fonts look fine.

When I use IcePdf viewer I also see '4'. They look fine in Adobe Reader.

What could cause this?

The check box is likely a Type1 font that is not embedded in the file, likely dingbats or symbol.

Try downloading the urwfonts zip from http://www.artifex.com/downloads/ which contains fonts that will likely help with the PDF in question. Once you have installed the fonts make sure the removed the ~/.icesoft/icepdf-viewer/pdfviewerfontcahe.properties so the viewer application will rescan your system for the new fonts.
