Hi,
I just wanted to highlight the fact that we've made some significant performance improvements for IE recently. The ICEfaces EE 1.8.2.GA release includes these improvements in a production-ready release. Since this information was buried in the Release Notes, I'd thought I should mention it here.
The specific changes are:
ICE-5140 - Improve form serialization performance. The ICEfaces JavaScript Bridge has been optimized to improve performance on Internet Explorer browsers when dealing with large forms. Actual performance improvements vary with form size, but 3x improvements have been seen with large forms.
In addition, there is another optional optimization that may be used that can further improve performance on all browsers, but particularly on IE variants (6, 7, 8):
ICE-5156 - Improve performance for JS event listener cleanup. For config. information see the "optimizedJSListenerCleanup" entry in Appendix B of the ICEfaces EE 1.8.2.GA Developer's Guide (included in the download bundle).
Regards,
Ken

Hi,
I should have mentioned this in the original posting - YES, these optimizations are also available in the open-source ICEfaces 1.8 svn repository if you would like to build them yourself.
See this thread for some related information.
