G'day. We're doing a Sun Portal Server implementation for a large corp at the moment & would love JSR-168 support from ICEFaces. I'd have it sold to my client in an instant.

We would like to use ICEfaces with Liferay 4.2.1. We have the example portlet that was posted in another thread (http://www.icefaces.org/JForum/posts/list/3155.page) working but right now the show stopper is no navigation support? Any idea if/when this is being addressed or if anybody has come up with a patch to make this work?

Sorry, we don't have a patch for this yet, but we are working on it, and should have an update on this issue shortly. We realize it's a fundamental bug and view this as a major priority.
Thanks,
Philip

Would very much like to use ICEfaces in oracle portal 1.4.
Unfortunately, the included resources don't appear to be using encodeURL, so (as our WSRP container is on a different machine to portal) none of the resources are being included. (certainly in ICEfaces 1.5.2)
Brilliant framework - add my vote to the pile

Icefaces 1.5.3 (from Seam Icefaces example), works quite nice! Just one thing I still needed to do is to combine the two icefaces javascript files (cat ice-extras.js >> icefaces-d2d.js) to get drag-n-drop to work. Icefaces wasn't able to find Draggable (and the other relevant js objects) due to some weird thing when running inside portlet. Maybe the automatic inclusion of icefaces-extra.js just doesn't work when running in portlet mode (Liferay 4.2.0).

I would like very much (and need to) work with JBoss and/or LifeRay portals.
Can I agree with my client to use IceFaces and one of the mentioned portals?

Thanks a lot

Liferay is our first priority for Portal support. That's probably going to be fully completed by ICEfaces 1.6.1. Check out this thread: http://www.icefaces.org/JForum/posts/list/3155.page

Do you have support for WebLogic portal container on your roadmap? We have a new project starting up which is scheduled for deployment as a WebLogic portlet and we would like to use ICEFaces for that project.
Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg,
Our first 2 targets are Liferay and JBoss Portal. After that we have no set priority. It will most likely depend on client demand which we'll review after we've completed Liferay and JBoss support, at which time we'll be better able to judge the extent of work required for supporting WebLogic.

IMHO targetting a WSRP environment would probably provide some useful groundwork for supporting remaining portals (e.g. Oracle)

I have tried latest liferay and jboss.
Jboss works better with icefaces than liferay.
with icefaces 1.6 you will need to setup AHS and it works okay.
with icefaces 1.7beta will get you some session expired trouble.

Hi... Any update on this thread?
1.Is Liferay still the first priority on integration with icefaces, does navigation work now?
2. Or is the integration with JBOSS portal as quoted above better than Liferay?
3. Is there any documentation on how to get to the logged in user principal, in either Liferay or Jboss from within the icefaces webapp.
I am in the midst of deciding between JBOSS and Liferay. I've decided on icefaces; would be very helpful if anyone has any pointers on the portal solution. I am inclined to go with JBoss as it has a comparatively larger services company backing it.. while Liferay seems to enjoy a much wider adoption.
TIA

I am using them as demo for a project. Your support already know about it.
My current worries go to liferay, weak documentation, no motivation to support, etc...., it's not bad product, but suport sucks. database is not relational.
What happens with 168 and 268 standards, supported ?
Keep up good work !
