hi all;

i couldn't install ice faces rsa plug-in on rsa 7.5.3. i know rsa must be 7.5.2
mine is 7.5.3 and gives an error during installition:

This error message shows one icefaces tooling dependency plugin "com.ibm.etools.jsf" verson range 7.2.0, 7.3.0 is missing in your RSA environment.

The ICEfaces RAD Tooling is developed on RAD v7.5.2. We haven't tested on RSA but I suspect RSA doesn't have standard JSF project support. My guess is that "com.ibm.etools.jsf" shipped in RSA v7.5.3 is out of range [7.2.0, 7.3.0), which causes the failure in dependency checking. It will help me a lot If you could find out the existence of com.ibm.etools.jsf and the version of it in RSA v7.5.3.

i looked at rsa plug-in directory and i couldn't see any com.ibm.etools.jsf 7.2 or 7.3
i attached a screenshot shows com.ibm.etools.jsf plug-ins that installed on my rsa.

so don't we use ice faces with rsa ide ?

This is interesting. I thought RSA should include all RAD has, but Looks like it doesn't. As I have said before officially the integration is for RAD, not RSA, but if the specific dependecy could be removed, it may work on RSA.

A jira case (ICE-4694) is opened for the possibility of supporting RSA

FWIW - I have run into the exact same problem with RAD 7.5.3

In next release some dependencies will be removed and version range of dependent plugins won't be defined as tight as current one along with other extra features

The fix for this issue will be available in next release.

We are trying to release new version with limited design time support soon.

For now there is a workaround:

In downloaded zip file, find file MANIFEST.MF under ICEfaces-1.8.1-RAD-7.5.2-plugins-v0.9.1.zip\plugins\com.icesoft.ide.rad.icefaces.core_0.9.1.200905261539\META-INF\ In the file, find line com.ibm.etools.jsf;bundle-version="[7.2.0,7.3.0)" and increase the version number 7.3.0 to 7.4.0
